How do you pronounce the name of the candle brand?

Iris·Edward. First name Iris, last name Edward. Combine the two and you have IrisEdward Candle Co.
 

What are Phthalates?

Phthalates, or phthalate esters, are a group of chemicals used in a various industries including pharmaceuticals, household cleaners and construction. Some common names for Phthalates are: Dibutul phthalate, Dimethyl phthalate, and Diethyl phthalate. Don’t worry we can’t pronounce them either and that’s why we don’t use them in our candles.

Studies have shown that phthalates can cause endocrine problems (controls hormone balance) and increase the risk of breast cancer, fertility issues, and other health problems. Rest assured, all of our candles are phthalate-free!

 

Why are lead-free wicks important?

Lead was traditionally added to wicks to help them stand up straighter and not fall into the wax after burning. However, when the candle wick is burned, the lead floats in the air and can be inhaled. Leading to lead poisoning. At IrisEdward Candle Co., all of our wick are lead-free!

Trim wicks to ¼” before lighting to avoid smoking and overheating. Be sure to check out our candle care guide here.
